You may be wondering what you need to bring to school on the first day. You will need:
- a snack, remember parents, it must be peanut and tree nut free
- a lunch, unless you’re getting hot lunch
- a back pack or bag
Both hot lunch and snack will be available to purchase the first day of school. Please be sure to check the UID website for the menu.
Please bring in a small object of something you did this summer that you want to share with the class on the first day of school. This could be a postcard, shell, book, etc. It must be small enough to fit in your backpack.
It
is also helpful to send in a note letting me know where your child will be
going after school on the first day. If
you know the bus number, that’s great, if not, no worries, Mrs. Preston will let
me know which bus your child will go home on.
You
do not need to purchase any supplies for school. Our classroom has plenty of pencils, erasers,
glue, markers, colored pencils, and crayons, so you will not need to
bring any such supplies. You may want to bring in a pencil box to store your crayons and pencils though. This is not a requirement, just a suggestion. If you send pencils in with your child, I am asking for you to please sharpen them at home. As you can imagine, sharpening pencils for 18 children in the morning can be quite time consuming!
We will spend the first day of school finding
cubbies, desks, and best of all, meeting new and old friends and getting to
know each other. I am looking forward to
getting to know new friends and seeing how much old friends have grown over the
summer!
Just a reminder that our school day begins at 7:50. I am looking forward seeing you all on
Wednesday, August 26th!
Ms Coulombe
