Welcome Back Fun in 3-4!

Math
Third grade mathematicians know how to be "good" mathematicians!

Mr Menz introduced Number of the Day in Third Grade Math

Fourth graders are also doing Number of the day.

Ask your child what they notice so far on our Number of the Day Chart

Reading
This week we read Patches Lost and Found.

We reviewed that reading is more than just reading the words. Reading is Thinking!

Ask your child about the thinking we did when we read Patches Lost and Found

Fun in Ms Melone's 3-4
  • We met Gary, a Monarch Butterfly caterpillar, who turned into a chrysalis Friday!

  • We made beautiful butterflies to decorate our windows!

  • We read Mae Among The Stars and Caterpillar Dreams as we thought about our Hope and Dreams in school this year. Ask your child what their hopes are for this year in class and be sure to check them out at Open House!

  • Third and Fourth graders made their self portraits.

  • Students worked in small groups to design "lunchboxes"

  • Third graders used created Trolls inspired by Thomas Dambo  and placed them on the nature trail behind the school.  Take a hike with your family and check them out!

Tuesday, August 13, 2024

Dear families,

I hope you are all having a fun-filled summer. We have had some beautiful summer weather. I hope you all had time to enjoy the summer with your family.

We will soon be heading back to school. I am excited to meet new third grade friends and reconnect with fourth graders!
Please read the attached letter for information you may need before school starts.

If you received this email in error, please let me know, so I can take you off this group email. If you have a different email that you'd rather me send class communication through, please let me know. If I inadvertently left someone off the email list, please let me know as well.

Have a great rest of the summer!
-Mia Melone
