| North Beach Sand Castle Challenge |
Third graders have spent a lot of time this September doing a lot of activities to to get to know each other and to learn how important it is to listen, share ideas and work together. We have been working with different partners to solve challenges. Each challenge fosters these important skills as we become a team.
The Marshmallow Challenge!
3rd graders used only 20 pieces of dry spaghetti, yarn and tape to create a structure that could hold a marshmallow as high up as they could.
The Paper Chain Challenge!
Saving Sam!
In the Saving Sam the worm challenge, partners had to save Sam, whose boat had capsized. They had to get Sam's life preserver around him using only two paper clips!
The Sand Castle Challenge
Finally, all of the UCS 3rd and 4th graders got together to design a sandcastle. After collaborating and planning, we went to North Beach to build our castles. We had an amazing day!
