Our Peppers have grown so much! We transplanted our peppers into larger containers.

Plants
2nd Graders have been learning that plants depend on water and light to grow. We planted seeds and put some in the light, both with and without water and some in the dark, with and without water so see which seeds would grow. After a week, we made some observations and charted our observations.
We also learned that plants depend on animals for pollination or to move their seeds around. We learned that bees pick up and drop of pollen to help plants create new plants. We learned how honey bees, which are important for pollination are on the decline. We designed, created and tested hand pollinators.

Geology

Reading
Second graders have joined Series Book Clubs. We are reading series of books such as Magic Tree House, Frog and Toad books, and Stink. We are identifying character traits and are noticing that a character's traits affect how a character responds to a problem or situation.
