Science
This week we finished up our light unit.
Second graders explored how light travels, how lights interacts with different materials and explored how to make and use a table to record observations. We learned that light can be natural, such as from the sun, or man-made as in a flashlight. Second graders then explored shadows and using mirrors to change the direction of light.
Second graders explored Shadows as part of our light unit.
Second graders also explored how light travels and reflects using mirrors.
| Second graders collaborated to make the light go all the way around the lightbox using mirrors. |
| Some groups made reflected the light up to the ceiling and to the walls! |
Four Winds
Thanks to Jenn Fink and Lauren Axerod for leading our Four Winds class on Bees last month!
Second graders learned about the importance of Honey Bees, parts of honey bees and their roles within the colony.
May Flowers
Well if the weather wasn't going to allow us to go outside to enjoy the flowers,
we decided to make our own for inside!
I hope the painted flowers brightened the rainy May days!
