Mr Wells came in and reviewed how to log in to our Chomebooks. We practiced carrying them safely and putting them back where they belong.

Second Graders have begun practicing their addition math facts using Fasttmath! Once we have practiced a few times at school, I will send home information on how your child can log in at home and practice. |

Spelling
We will be spending September reviewing the skills second graders learned in first grade Fundations. We have reviewed sh, th, ch, short vowels, ack, eck, ick, ock, uck. We will continue reviewing -ng, -nk, blends, clusters, sentence structure, and Trick Words.

Reading Workshop
Second graders have been reviewing how to choose "Just Right" books. We have also been practicing Silent Reading and Buddy Reading. Our second graders have gotten to 21 minutes of Silent Reading! Second graders will continue on building stamina for reading silently.
Second graders also reviewed that readers have favorite parts and make connections (This reminds me of...) Students marked their favorite part of a book with a sticky note and then shared their favorite part with their reading buddy.
