Small World Unit on Culture
We are finishing up our culture unit. On Friday, Mr Langevin, our Technology Integration Specialist, came in to help us create a Voice Thread in order to share interesting facts we learned during our culture unit. We will be finishing up our Voice Thread and sharing it next week!
We have also be learning map skills. We learned the four Cardinal Directions North, South, East and West and discussed the importance of having them on maps and using them for directions. We looked at our nation's map, found Vermont, our nation's capital and discussed how Alaska and Hawaii are often not shown in their correct place on a map.
Using the map below ask your child:
- What country is South of the United States?
- What country is North of the United States?
- What two states are not part of the Continental United States?
- What two major mountain ranges run through the United States?
- What ocean is West of the United States?
- What ocean is East of the United States?
